Chemistry Course Overview

It is essential that medical technologists possess the skills to effectively communicate with all members of the health care team, whether it is verbally or in writing. The purpose of this lesson is to enable you to learn about communicating effectively in writing. For example, you may be asked to develop and implement a procedure or protocol in response to an apparent need or problem situation. This includes:

  • specimen collection, handling and transport issues
  • validation of instrument function and daily and periodic quality control analysis
  • instrument calibration
  • specimen analysis
  • evaluating patient results
  • communicating these results
  • evaluating quality assurance
