Nursing Education And Technology

We have partnered with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) to provide you with this repository of nursing-related learning objects. Through this site you will have access to UTMB’s Clinical Laboratory Science learning objects as well.

Learning Objects are small, reusable components of instructional media. They are a core concept in the approach towards learning (and teaching) as a series of instructional building blocks. Multiple blocks can be joined together to form a more comprehensive instructional unit, or individual blocks can be used to emphasize a particular aspect of learning. How you decide to piece together the instructional blocks of your learning unit is up to you!

Using our learning objects can help you, as the instructor, to save time and money, and provide you with new ideas and methods to present instructional content. Students can also benefit from using our learning objects to review and reinforce existing concepts, as well as using them to learn something new. For more information on how to use learning objects, take a look at our virtual teaching guide.

Our site provides you with a well-indexed, centralized resource of instructional content. Registration is free, quick and easy and provides you with full access to our site. Even if you aren't a registered user, you may search our learning object repository to browse the types of objects available to you and to view detailed information about a particular learning object. This information includes such instructional aids as objectives, description and keywords. Registered users will be able to download this information along with the learning object file and be provided with a link to access the object without downloading it.

If you have an idea for a learning object, or you'd like to share existing content you have developed, we'd love to hear from you! If you share content with us, you maintain the copyright for your items, while we provide a place to host that content for the benefit of other educators.

Thanks for visiting our site. If you have any questions, please review the technical requirements to use this site or send us an email.
