Web-based Education in Clinical Laboratory Sciences

Welcome to WebCLS!

WebCLS is the educational opportunity for individuals to earn baccalaureate level education in Clinical Laboratory Sciences (CLS) through a web-based curriculum. Opportunities for web-based continuing education are also available.

Common Questions

What is WebCLS?
Who is behind WebCLS?
Where will my BS degree come from?
How can I earn Continuing Education credits?

WebCLS is a partnership of nine institutions offering you the opportunity to obtain:
  1. Baccalaureate level CLS education
  2. Continuing Education in CLS

The courses are all web-based and include:

  • on-line interactive course laboratories using video and animation
  • interactive discussion and chat sessions
  • on-line testing and evaluation
  • comprehensive on-line review materials
  • virtual practice laboratory
The goal for the WebCLS is to provide an articulation route for associate degree clinical laboratory technicians (CLTs) in rural, medically underserved areas to gain their baccalaureate degree without leaving their hometown. Due to the depletion of accredited CLS programs, the associate degree CLTs has reduced local access to CLS educational programs. Because of their work schedules, many non-traditional students need a more time-and place-independent, asynchronous method of course delivery

WebCLS Is the answer you have been looking for!!!

The WebCLS courses are designed in collaboration with MLT educators to ensure that the overlap between MLT/MT level courses will be minimized and problem solving and managerial skills are emphasized.
